very good food (especially the noodle bowls) amazing service (very quick) some noodle bowls have peanuts in them but you can ask for one without it just might take longer. Very good place for family's and kids.

Maybe an anomaly today but I got terribly sick after eating here this time. I ordered the satay beef noodle soup. I've had this before so it was nothing new. I think the place has gone downhill since it's hey days. The portions seem smaller, flavors different, and it's no longer, what I consider, cheap eats anymore. By no means is it pricey but the value isn't as good as before. I think it's also not as busy as before, maybe reason why. Perhaps there are also more, and better choices (like Kanata Noodle House) now. They do still make a very good mango shake and 3 color drink. Better than other places we have tried. I'd probably still go back but I would never order that satay noodle again.

Friendly staff, good service, lots of choice on the menu. Delicious appetizers, soup, rice or vermicelli meal with choice of meat, seafood or vegan. Spring roll can be made with rice paper if you don't eat gluten. And be warned...Soup is delicious and huge!

Delicious food. Price is fairly cheap, compares to other pho restaurants. I always have special pho. The soup is clear, unsalty. There seems only one size, but the quantity is ok. Meat is fresh. They also have a special spicy sauce which has pepper seed in it. Love it!

Very healthy and friendly service. I go there 3-4 times a month. The food is healthy and their special curry soup, when they have it, is one of my favorite meal ever

have been going here for years now! definitely a gem in Ottawa. The best food, never disappointed! with great prices. They make the best yellow& red bean with green jelly and coconut milk dessert around! Love this spot!

Authentic Vietnamese restaurant just outside Chinatown. Ordered the rice with beef and chicken. Thought that it was supposed to come with the quiche (steamed egg) but apparently when you order 2 meats you don't get the egg. Different from most other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. Overall good food and fast service. Restaurant is a little old and run down.

My first dining experience at New Mee Fung was in 1999. This restaurant has been a favourite of my family ever since. Many a birthday has been celebrated over Pho and wraps here. I particularly love their spicy beef sate soup. The best Vietnamese soup I have had in Ottawa. Earlier this month I tried the Bun Bo Hue. It was good but I have had better elsewhere. Last weekend I tried a new menu item: Bun Cha Hanoi. This pork dish was very good, along with a side of Saigon style deep fried spring rolls. But their beef sate soup remains my to-die-for dish. The service is fast and staff are friendly.

Great place with lots of seating. The food was great too - we ordered a pad Thai and it was really good. The pho was on par with the rest on somerset. Definitely would visit again for a quick bite.

It's kind of a sad looking place with sticky floors and indifferent waiters. But, imo, best pho in the city. And they put actual tofu and veggies in veggie version, which in my experience is rare.

A great experience for lunch. Very quick and polite service and excellent quality Vietnamese food. A very comprehensive menu and many choices for great pho and bun (vermicelli). If you'd like to try something different, try the Satay soup. A unique/delicious choice that you won't find on offer at many other Ottawa restaurants and New Mee Fung has the best in Ottawa. Hands down, this is a superb Vietnamese restaurant and a place I would come back to again and again - 5 stars.

The duck noodle was great. Sauce was rich. Duck was tender. There was potatoes and they were well cooked and dissolved into the sauce. There was eggplant as well.the portion was generous. The price was reasonable. The restaurant was clean. Parking on the street was easy on a Friday.

Herbs were fresh and the grilled meats were tasty. Like most vietnamese restaurants, the menu is massive with subtle variations between dishes. Everything youd expect they have. Cant comment on the Pho because I didnt have it.

One of my favourite Pho restaurants. The prices are very good especially for the amount of food you get, well worth the prices. The staff here are very nice and the wait for food isn't extremely long either. I do often suggest this place and will continue to do so; it's my go to whenever I'm not in the mood to cook.

Enjoyed dining here. Pho is okay -- meat slices were very good, but the broth is a little too fatty, and somewhat lacks flavour. Vermicelli dishes are of decent portions; spring rolls could be better, but otherwise, the grilled meat is very good. They also serve Vietnamesr sausages with the wrapped ground pork, which I've never seen any Viet restaurants in Ottawa serve (I've been looking for it everywhere!) So this is my go-to place for that.

Beef pho soup base was weak. The thick crab meat noodle the soup base was decent but the noodle was a bit mushy. The lemongrass BBQ chicken was so so that I will not try again. The iced coffee tastes not much different than the one from McDonald's plus I can find grinded coffee pieces.

This cafeteria style restaurant is low key and seats about 100+. Kids can make noise and run around. There are hundreds of options for Vietnamese style food. And if you don't see exactly what you want they will make whatever you ask for. We frequent this place weekly. Once we brought our vegan nieces and they were able to customize the Roll-Up with Rice Paper to replace meats($15) with tofu. All of the options in this category(#400-422) are fantastic. The Pho soups($7-$10) are also great. My kids love the shakes($4), they make them with coconut milk and fruit so they are more like a creamy slushy.

I've eaten at this establishment regularly for six years. Even at its busiest I've never had bad service or had to wait long for a table here. The food is consistent, good, plentiful, and the best part, inexpensive.I should also add that I have no idea why some of the other reviews claim that this place is inauthentic or a place for the less adventurous. You can order tripe, balls, and a host of other quite genuine meals with lots of variety.

Some good friends first introduced to New Mee Fung, and when we are in the mood for Vietnamese food we often go here. The food is good and the service very quick. Prices are reasonable. There are some large tables for larger good with rotating platform in the middle for sharing food. Good selection of menu items.

This restaurant is a favourite of many Ottawanians. Prices are reasonable. Food is authentic and of high quality. I would not describe the restaurant as fancy or the service as exceptional but the fundamentals of good food and fair price are strong. Worth a visit if you like Pho soup or a good bowl of vermicelli.

Subpar service by one of the waiting staff (short and with glasses). The food was fine, but drinks were mediocre, bordering on bad. Lemon juice soda was way too sour (and inauthentic since they use lime in Vietnam). The grass jelly coconut drink tasted rancid. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Talk about a hidden gem! The place seems to be mainly family run and you could tell they put pride in the quality of food. Feels very authentic. Nothing fancy. Great food at low prices. I have yet to find a dish I don't like but to be fair I almost always choose their signature spicy satay beef (I still call it the 136 from their old menu). I was also impressed to see they serve actual Viet coffee through a steel drip filter on a coffee mug.
